Folk Medicine for common cold - Long Pepper

Scientific name : Pepir longum
Sanskrit name   : Pippali
English name     : Long pepper

In the ayurvedic pharmacology chukku (dried ginger), Kurumulaku (pepper) and thippali (long pepper) in their trio is known as trikadu whose synergistic action has pretty much importance.

Trikadu with a small amount of corianders and wheat flower may be boiled to make a decoction which is very much a preventive as well as healing medicine to common cold.

Thippali (long pepper) is also used in many other ayurvedic preparations.
