Dhoop Chhaon, released in 1935 introduced playback singing in Indian Cinema. Produced by New Theatres, Calcutta, the film was directed by Nitin Bose. The music of Dhoop Chhaon was by Raichand Boral. The film has also made in Bengali as Bhagya-Chakra.

The story of the film is about kidnapping a child for the greed of wealth and a blind man bringing up the child, the grown up child falling in love with a girl and eloping with her, losing memory in accident and regaining the memory once he sees his foster father etc - twists and turns in the story.
The film is remembered as a musical hit that introduced playback singing.
