Kalyanasougandhikam in Kathakali Part 6

This video shows Kalyanasougandhikam play, which a bit from Kathakali performed by a group of artistes. Kathakali is a classical dance drama originated in 17th century in Kerala state of India. Kathakali literally means “story play” and this art form is noted for its intricate makeup and costumes. Kerala, being a favourite destination of tourists is well-known by Kathakali as it has become the icon of the state.

In this video you can see Hanuman assumes the form of an old monkey and lies down on the way blocking Bhima who is in search for a rare flower called Kalyanasougandhikam.
