About 'On the way to Kudajadri, Karnataka'

Featured in the video is the path leading Kudajadri, a scenic hill region in Karnataka state, India. Anybody who wishes to reach this hilltop shrine will have to take a painstaking trudge through the dense forests of the Western Ghats or will have to take a jeep ride. Kudajadri is an excellent place for adventure tourism and trekking.

On the hilltop is the Sarvajnapeedom or Sankarapeedam (the seat of complete wisdom) of Sri Sankaracharya, the Indian philosopher who consolidated the doctrine of Advaita Vedanta (non-dualism).

The name Kudajadri is derived from the Sanskrit word “Kutakachalam”. Kudajadri forms the scenic background to the famous temple of Mookambika in Kollur.
