Sarosh Homi Kapadia, born on 29th September 1947 is the thirty-eighth and the current chief justice of India. The chief justice of India is considered to be the highest judicial position obtainable by a judge in India. The chief justice is the head of the administrative functions of the Supreme Court and also sits actively as a presiding judge in the Supreme Court of India.

Shown in the video is the swearing-in-ceremony of Justice Kapadia as the Chief Justice of India at the Rashtrapati Bhavan by the H’ble President of India, Pratibha Patil. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, his cabinet colleagues and the outgoing Chief Justice K.G.Balakrishnan were present during the function.
