Lime Pickle (Naranga curry)


Big-sized lemon - 1 (curry naranga)
Chopped green chillies - 2 tsp
Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
Red dry chillies
Chilli powder - 1 tsp
Tamarind pulp – half-a-cup
Asafoetida - 1 tsp
Fenugreek powder – one pinch
Grated jaggery - 2 tsp
Salt to taste
Mustard seeds, curry leaves and oil for seasoning

Method of preparation

Let us start the proceedings by heating oil in a pan. Next, add the chopped lemon and green chillies. Fry the whole ingredients till it becomes soft and then add all the powders along with the tamarind pulp and salt. To this, add half-a-cup of water. Boil well and add jaggery. Mix the ingredients well and cook for three minutes. Proceed to add the seasoning, comprising mustard seeds, red dry chillies and curry leaves.
