Flood water benefits lotus farming

How do you make the best of a bad deal? Sukhwinder Singh, a farmer in Dhanouri village of Punjab recently showed the way. When flood devastated large areas of farm land in Punjab, Sukhwinder did not sit back in helpless anguish. He used the flood water to his advantage and famed a crop of lotus flowers from his flooded fields. Sukhwinder has now become an inspirational example for many other farmers. Agricultural experts also agree with Sukhwinder. Lotus is one of the crops which can sustain in flooded fields more than any other crops.
