Ahimsa

The word Ahimsa became popular in the modern world outside India through the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi, the great Indian leader and Father of the Nation.

Ahimsa means non violence. Though the word ahimsa has been translated as abstinence from killing or injuring, it has wider connotations. Ahimsa is an attitude or disposition of compassion and affection towards all. The practice of ahimsa generates universal love in the sadhaka.
