Ilayada

Ingredients

Ripe plantain - 1 (cut into small pieces)
Rice flour - 2 cups
Grated jaggery - 1 cup
Grated coconut grated - 2 cups
Ghee
Cardamom powder - 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Water

Method of preparation

To make the Ilayada, start by adding three teaspoons of ghee in a pan. Now add grated jaggery, coconut, cardamom powder, and banana pieces. Fry for three minutes and keep the ingredients aside for stuffing. Cut banana leaves into square pieces. Next, take small, ball-sized portions of the rice dough and spread it out evenly on the heated banana leaf. Top it with the ingredients kept aside for stuffing. Fold once the banana leaves and steam well with the help of a steamer or idli cooker.
