Purva Mimamsa

One of the six major orthodox systems of Indian philosophy. The first systematic work on mimamsa is that of Jaimini, Mimamsa Sutra (400 BC). The purva mimamsa commonly known as ‘mimamsa’ deals with the doctrines taught in the earlier (purva) sections of the Veda, which teaches ritual. The earlier part of the Vedas are called Brahmanas.
