Saptapuri Amabasya is the new moon day of Bhadrapad. On this day, sweets known as Saptapuri Tada are offered to the various deities.
Earthen toys of animals - the hati (elephant), the ghoda (horse), the gai (cow) and the balada (bullock) - as well as that of the maan seer (measuring instrument for pulses) are used for the puja conducted on this day.
