At least four hours should have elapsed after every heavy meal before practicing asanas. Practice of yoga asanas is allowed after one hour if the meal was of light nature.
Similarly allow one hour to elapse after completing the asanas before taking any food.
Drinking a cup of tea, coffee or milk won’t do any harm before starting the practice of asanas.
Asanas should be done on an empty stomach. Before starting to practice asanas, the bladder should be emptied and the bowels evacuated.
Allow at least fifteen minutes to elapse after doing asanas before taking a bath.
